
Allison Loggins-Hull enjoys an eclectic career as a composer, performer, arranger and entrepreneur. As a composer she has had her works premiered at the National Flute Association’s Annual Convention (2011), the Black Women's Art Festival, New York University, Galapagos Art Space and other New York City venues. She is a founding member of the critically acclaimed electro-acoustic duo Flutronix, a group which she regularly performs in, records and composes for. Along with the other half of Flutronix, Nathalie Joachim, she has developed a small record label, publishing company and co-hosts a webseries Real Flutists where distinguished flutists are profiled and interviewed. As a classical flutist she has performed at renowned concert stages including Carnegie Hall, Weill Recital Hall, Town Hall, CAMI Hall and the Mostly Mozart Festival at Lincoln Center. She has been featured internationally in France, Italy, the Banff Centre for the Arts and has been a first place winner of the Julius Baker Yamaha Prize and the Purchase Concerto Competition. In 2005 she made her radio broadcast debut on WQXR's "McGraw Hill's Young Artist Showcase" with a live performance of Carl Vine's sonata for flute and piano. In concert, she has collaborated with distinguished soloists including bassist Edgar Meyer, flutist Tara Helen O'Connor, violist Jesse Levine , violinist Daniel Philips and ensembles including the International Contemporary Ensemble (ICE), Blind Ear Music, Opera Noire, the Stonewall Chorale, Iktus Percussion Quartet and members of the Sirius String Quartet. A musician of many trades, other musical genres have brought her to venues including the Issue Project Room, the Knitting Factory, Webster Hall, Joe’s Pub and Piano's. Allison earned a MA in composition at New York University where she studied with Joan la Barbara. She earned her BM in music performance at the SUNY Purchase Conservatory of Music under the tutelage of Tara Helen O’Connor. Her earliest teachers were Melissa Sweet and Mary Barto.
